The Prowl Security Administration (PSA) recommends that you leave ample time for holiday travel today and tomorrow. Travel times will be longer this year due to compounding factors.
Meowsborough remains under an ice storm warning. While the Meowsborough International Airport proudly deices its planes, recent staffing shortages may cause unsafe conditions for grounds crew. Insufficiently manned deicing hoses tend to lift toms right off their paws. Hanging onto pressurized hoses for dear life, the grounds crew – not the planes – will be flying over the tarmac.
Boxton’s Municipal Airport’s own staffing shortages may lead to longer times in Security lines. Recently, the regional airport has seen an uptick in meowsters attempting to sneak meoweejuana and laser pointers onto planes. The PSA regrets that the mischievous actions of a few meowsters delay the holiday festivities for all passengers.
Adding to our holiday woes, unionized MeowRail workers authorized a rail-and-subway strike over the weekend. Stranded ladies and gentle-kitties have already started to curl up for long naps at rail stations nation-wide, wistfully looking at darkened trains sitting at empty platforms. In an interview with correspondents at Meowsborough Weekly, the union’s spokesperson defended the strike, pointing out that “conductors and crew deserve fair compensation packages 24/7/365, holiday or no holiday”.
Given these dynamics, PSA analysts forecast record-breaking congestion on the interstates this year – as clowders pile into family-cars in lieu of planes and trains. To prepare for long drives, alpha-toms should fill up fuel tanks, and mama-cats should encourage kittens to use the litter box before hitting the alleys. Some road trip games might help pass the time for little ones eager for cozy hidey boxes and Thanksgiving turkey treats at your holiday destination.
However you and your clowder plan to get from A to B this year, the Editorial Staff at Meowsborough Weekly wishes you safe travels and a very Happy Thanksgiving.
